Eligibility
These are the core criteria for the Leader+ programme and it is essential applicants can demonstrate that they can fulfil all these criteria.
1 In
North Antrim area(Larne,Ballymena,Ballymoney,Moyle
council areas)
(excluding the towns of Larne, Ballymena and
Ballymoney)
2 Relates to central themes either:
Use of New Know How and New Technologies
Best Use of Cultural and Natural Resources
3 The project contributes to the objectives and performance targets of the LAGs Business Plan
4 The scale of the project is appropriate to the Business Plan ie does not use up a large proportion of funding yet only delivers results to a small part of the area
5 The project has not commenced
6 The project is genuinely additional and will not cause displacement in the area.
7 The project cannot be funded from another EU source.
8 The project currently employs 10 or less people.
9 The project does not have a potential negative environmental impact.
10 The project is private sector based
If the project is deemed eligible by fulfilling the above, these are the criteria which the proposal will be scored against.
Assessment
1 The Project sustains/creates jobs (high weighting given to job creation)
2 The project targets priority groups (youth, women, farm families, long-term unemployed)
3 The project is innovative in process/sector/area
4 The project is sustainable physically, socially and environmentally
5 Good track record and experience

Appropriate skills for project
7 The project targets priority wards
8 The project has positive environmental impact
9 The
project is transferable can be used as a
model

The applicant can spend quickly - all grants
must be claimed by 31st Dec 2007

All Statutory Approvals are in place - planning
permission must be already granted
