Measure
Making the best use of Cultural and Natural Resources
Sub-Measure
North Antrim Inns.
Aims
To help in raising the range and quality of food supplied in inns and pubs in the area
Actions
Grant packages of up to £12,500 of capital costs will be offered (to a maximum of 50% of eligible costs) to support pubs/inns who wish to improve the quality of their food service and who want to attain recognised quality standards in food preparation and service. The assistance will be used to put in place new or improved catering facilities, make the premises more tourist and family friendly and to ensure that recognised quality standards are achieved and maintained.

Only a limited number of grant packages are available and these will be offered on a competitive basis.

This sub measure will be linked to a similar measure in the South Antrim LEADER (REAP) Programme.

Rationale
North Antrim lacks an acceptable range of pubs and inns which can provide a reasonable standard of food service for tourist and local alike.
Specific Criteria

Must be existing licensed premises
Must utilise and promote local produce
Must aim for recognised quality standards (Taste of Ulster)
Must be willing to participate in joint marketing
Must create at least one job or have potential to do so
Must not duplicate a similar scheme in village or area but offer different experience
